The Okami Legacy 2.1 - "A New Generation"

Welcome to 2.1 of the Okami Legacy, entitled "A New Generation."

Readers - you voted, and it turns out that Haruki Okami will be the Generation 2 heir! Haruki was in the lead with 7 votes (53%), Hotaru came in second with 4 (30%), and Aiko came last with 2 votes (15%).

"Congrats, bro!" Hotaru congratulated her elder brother for winning the heir vote. "W-well thanks sis," said Haruki stuttering. He had not expected winning the vote. He was sure that one of his sisters would win - Aiko for her beauty and uniqueness, maybe, or Hotaru for her trademark white-red hair. What he really wanted to do was move out, marry Abigail (his high-school sweetheart), have a kid or two, reach the top of his career, and live a life like any normal sim would ... with the exception of having wild parties every night.

Being a Neat sim, Hotaru could not stand one thing out of place. She made all the beds and cleaned the house each day.

I don't think the carpool driver appreciates Amaterasu's new outfit very much.

It was a warm, sunny day, and Boyd was just painting away. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and sparkles were emitting from Boyd's paintbrush. A wondrous day indeed.

Suddenly, Boyd began to feel a little odd. Odd, but relaxed. His muscles no longer ached, and he felt ... calm. At peace. He nearly dropped the paintbrush as sparkles surrounded him, and he floated.

Boyd then looked at himself, he had become white and transparent. Needless to say, he had passed on.

"Huh? What's that weird noise?" Amaterasu yawned as she awoke from a noise. She suddenly saw a hooded figure on the balcony. She jumped up and made her way out.

Her body froze, she came to a halt, her heart skipped a beat, and it felt as though someone had filled her up with ice water. As she saw the scene unfold before her, it was as if she had run into a wall.

"Wha ... what's going on ..?" Amaterasu nearly choked. The Grim Reaper though, just ignored her. "BOYD OKAMI, YOUR TIME HAS COME," he said in a booming voice. "No ... please ... take me instead ... let him live, please, just for another day ... no ..." Amaterasu cried and pleaded with the Grim Reaper, but when it's time for a sim to pass on, they pass on, and Death wanted new lives. In a short amount of time, Grim took Boyd for his own.

"No ... no ... no ..." Reality sank in for Amaterasu, and she kept repeating the words over and over again, as if they would reverse what had just happened.
"Boyd, Boyd ... my dear sweet husband! Why did this happen to you, why why why!" Amaterasu sobbed.

A display was made for Boyd on the deepest floor of the mausoleum (the table that the urn was on was later changed since sims could only view the grave, but not mourn it). A nice flower arrangement was left for him, and since there were no pictures of Boyd, a painting he painted was hung above his display instead. It was the painting of Amaterasu bursting out of the statue, in hopes that Boyd would one day, return.

"Daddy ..." Hotaru sniffled. She was really taking her father's death hard.

But nobody was taking it harder than Amaterasu. It was weeping and mourning for her at first, but after a while, she began to take to weird habits, like staying in the mausoleum for hours, even talking to "Boyd" as if he were still there, living and breathing. The children all worried for their mother's sanity.

The house got an extension! The computer was placed in the hall, the old living room is now a rec room, the old study room is now a dining room, a larger living room got added, and there's now a heir suite.

Aiko was really starting to get interested in outer space. She would stargaze all night long.

"Abigail!" Haruki grabbed his girlfriend in a hug when he saw her. Things had been negative around the household, and he needed some cheering up right now.

Which of course, meant a lot of comfort making-out.

"Abigail, I want to take you out somewhere," Haruki said. Even though he and Abigail have been dating since high school, they never really went out on an official date. "Where?" Abigail asked, puzzled. "You'll see!" laughed Haruki seductively.

"Oh, the Bistro? How sweet! I've been looking forward to going to this place for a long time," Abigail giggled.

"How's that sushi?" asked Haruki, who was enjoying his own meal himself. The candles had been lit with a romantic magenta flame that really set the mood.

After their meal, the two got up and slow danced. The air was warm and the night was starry, and they were surrounded by seductive magenta candlelight. It was the most beautiful scene, and Haruki wanted to be locked in it forever. He then made a decision right there, and wanted to make it a night neither would forget.

"Abigail, I've been thinking about this for a while now ..."

"What?" asked Abigail. "Hold on ..." giggled Haruki as he pulled out a black velvet box ... ;]

"Abigail, will you make me the happiest man alive and become my wife?"

Abigail couldn't stop jumping up and down in glee. "YES! Yes, Haruki! Yes, I will marry you!"

"So how 'bout that ring, eh?" Haruki joked as he held it up. The candle, star & moonlight caught the glittering diamond, and it reflected beautifully, making a sparkly shine.

"Ohmigosh, ohmigosh Haruki it's PERFECT! It must have cost like a zillion dollars!" Being Excitable like Haruki, she was especially physced about this moment.

"So do I get a hug?" Haruki smiled, opening his arms. "Yeah, you do!" laughed Abigail as she practically ran into him whilst trying to hug him.

"Abigail ..." Haruki whispered, "I promise to never leave your side. I will catch you when you fall, comfort you when nessacary, nurse you when you're ill until you're back in health. If you succeed, we both succeed, if you fail, we both fail, together. We shall both embrace our ends together as we did our joining, and love each other unconditionally until the end of time itself." He finished his little speech. "Oh, Haruki ..." Abigail teared up a little, but in happiness and joy.

They kissed tenderly as everyone around them clapped and congratulated, but they didn't notice. The only thing that mattered at the moment was them, and everything else in the world had melted away. Haruki now knew what his mother meant when she said she was helplessly in love with Boyd.

Haruki invited her to spend the night, and she agreed. They entered the house.

Not long after they had stepped in, they both were all over each other.

Amaterasu was delighted when she found out Abigail's favorite color was white, which, paired with her color, red, matched the legacy theme perfectly.

Watching TV, romance shows of course.

The romance shows set the two off. The making out started all over again.

Aiko sat on the fountain at the park. It was a nice day out, but her mind was on something else. As in, a man was staring at her from across the park.

He was obviously a handyman of some sort, and a handsome one, Aiko thought to herself. She went to go introduce herself.

He introduced himself as Ronnie. The minute their hands touched and their eyes met, they knew they were in love.

They even both loved the outdoors. It was a match made in heaven.

Needless to say, they got along quite well.

But within time, they found themselves locked in an embrace, staring desperately into each other's eyes. It was love at first sight for them.

Aiko proceeded to give him a peck on the lips, which he, to her delight, accepted.

Aiko was overjoyed by this act and leapt into her new love's arms.

Aiko, being the romantic princess she was, stuck her leg up in the air slightly.

Aiko and Ronnie were so capitvated by each other. Ronnie was like the light, and Aiko was like the moth, attracted to him, knowing that she would perish somehow, but couldn't get away,

He agreed to go steady with her. Aiko was delighted that she had a new boyfriend.

And, only knowing one of his traits and nothing about his personality, attitude, or anything, she knelt down and proposed. Surprisingly, he agreed.

The ceremony was held on the bridge. Family members came to attend, but that was it. Aiko dressed up in a pretty white dress with red roses.

"Hmph ..." Amaterasu frowned as she watched the ceremony passed. She did not approve of her daughter marrying a complete stranger, especially on the bridge where she had caught Xander cheating on her.

"With this ring, I make you my lawfully wedded wife ..." Ronnie said, slipping the band on Aiko's finger.

With the rings exchanged, the couple looked longingly and lovingly into each other's eyes once more ...

... And took their first kiss as a married couple.

Even though they had just met that day, Aiko felt certain that they truly belonged together. Once they got hitched, they moved out of the house. Hopefully they would visit.

"Today is our wedding day!" Haruki enthused his wife-to-be the morning of their wedding.

Sure enough, a cab came to drop them off at the beach, where the wedding would be taking place.

Amaterasu decided to prepare some drinks for the occasion.

"WOOOOOOO!!!!!" yelled Haruki as Blair looked on unapprovingly.

Hotaru's boss came to the wedding. She was quite smitten by his looks, but he turned out to be single. Still, Hotaru would not give up ...

The ceremony began, and all the guests crowded around the bride and groom.

"With this ring, I thee wed ..."

The ceremony continued. Some sims were crying of joy. Others were doing a romantic, dreamy sigh, and some even threw rice, whereas most just clapped.

The deal was sealed with a final kiss.

Holly even began to cry in tears of joy when she saw the new young couple bind unto each other.

To celebrate, Amaterasu cooked fish & chips.

Abigail got a makeover, and she looked rather stunning. They cuddled on their new bed on the night of the honeymoon, red and white, but with little aqua lines because that was Haruki's favorite color.

"What an eventful day, now we can finally relax ..." murmured Haruki.

He fell on top of his new wife, and together, they shared a night of magic.

Both were breathless after, drained from each other's company. The only thing they could do was gaze lovingly into each other's eyes. It was true love.

It was time for Amaterasu to age up into an Elder! "One more day closer to being with Boyd ..." she murmured so that nobody could hear her.

Amaterasu as an elder. Though the white parts of her hair had definitely greyed, the red in it still remained strong.

In other news, Hotaru has successfully stolen Connor Frio ... but I don't think his wife was too happy about it.

Hotaru then asked Connor to go steady with her, and he accepted. Hotaru moved in with ner new boyfriend.

Now that everyone else was out of the house, Amaterasu needed to tell Haruki about the prophecy. She brought him to a secluded area on the outskirts of Sunset Valley. It was in the dead of night, so she was sure that nobody would find them there. "So why'd you bring me out here, mum?" asked Haruki, puzzled. His mother had droven him to the lake with no explanation whatsoever.

"I'll tell you now ..." Amaterasu took a deep breath and told him about the whole legend, from the statue to Sakura to the monster to the legacy.

Haruki stared at his mother and then spoke slowly.

"So ... let me get this straight ... I will be helping saving this Kimiki Village by producing my offspring? Mom, you sure this Boyd thing hasn't gotten to your head?"

Amaterasu stared back. "What are you talking ... you know what, nevermind."

Amaterasu started to walk away. Haruki stared after her, and then he felt a burning, searing pain in his lower back. "OW!" he cried, falling to his knees.

"Mum, I just felt a horrible pain in my back!" Haruki winced. Amaterasu tapped her head. "Your back, did you say?" she asked. "Yes, my back ..." he answered. "Take off your clothes," she answered, and reluctantly, he did.

"Woah! Where did this come from?" Haruki gasped as he saw the tattoo on his lower back.

"It's the legacy tattoo, each heir gets one," she said, proceeding to strip down herself and ...

"I've had this since my youth, but unable to show any of you," she explained as Haruki stared, open-mouthed, at her tattoo, which matched his.

They put their clothes back on. "Do you believe me now?"

"I guess I do. Race ya home!" laughed Haruki as he ran away, and Amaterasu rolled her eyes as she followed him.
