The Okami Legacy 1.5 - "Child & Teen Hood"

The Okami Legacy 1.5 - Child & Teen Hood

"Another one of my greatest paintings yet!" Boyd smiled as he admired the painting he just completed. This painting was supposed to be Boyd and Amaterasu as they got married on the bridge - rather, a more beautified version of the moment.

Haruki was an avid reader. During his free time, he would often be found reading on the big couch rather than watching TV.

Birthday time for the twins! Little Aiko nibbled on her hand as she wondered what she would look like as a child.

"Woo! That's my little sis. Age up!" Haruki cheered on as Aiko began to sparkle and age up into a child.

Little Hotaru clapped her hands in glee when it was her time to grow up.

Haruki made it just in time to see the sparkles begin to surround his little half-sister.

Aiko Okami as a child. She kept her hair in two long ponies, and wore a t-shirt with a heart on it to further express her name, "love child." She still looked a lot like Boyd, her father. Aiko developed the Hot-Headed trait, which was also strange since that was one of Xander's traits, the man who betrayed Amaterasu when Haruki was just a little baby.

Hotaru Okami had Boyd's eyes but she also had the trademark white-red hair that could only belong to Amaterasu. She kept it in a short yet cute style. She recieved the Over-Emotional trait for her third trait.

The first thing that Aiko did when she grew up was go right into her big girl bed and get some sleep. She was so tired, that she practically fell asleep before her head even hit the pillow.

Hotaru climbed onto her new bed as well. She was eager to sport her new polka-dot pajamas which were, indeed, comfortable.

The three siblings now shared a room. The cribs and the other baby things were moved to the storage room, which would be used for future generations. But for now, they sat in the storage room, collecting dust.

Another picture inspired by Amaterasu. This was supposed to be her erupting from a statue, or in this case, when Sakura awoke Amaterasu from the statue. Weirdly enough, Boyd dreamt of this, but luckily he didn't believe it. It was good inspiration for a painting, however.

Being the Good family that they were, the Okamis frequently donated to the needy. This is Aiko, donating to the Save The Earthworms foundation, one of the many charities that the household supported.

Being the hot-head that she was, Aiko picked a fight with anyone that she could. This time, it was Haruki. "Haruki, it's Monday! A school day! Why were you not up and ready earlier? Be thankful you did not have to miss breakfast so you had more time to get ready!"

"Calm down, sis! Not everyone has to be up at 4:30 a.m. every day! I have plenty of time. I'd have a greater chance of missing breakfast when you argue with me! Your scolding never ends!" Haruki said.

"The early bird catches the worm! Have you not heard of that phrase? The earlier you wake up, the longer day you'll have!" Angered, Aiko stalked off. She could just explode in a fit of frustration at the littlest things.

Haruki decided to sit next to Hotaru on the bus because of him and Aiko's argument that morning. Aiko sat alone, staring straight ahead.

Boyd made a habit of reading the newspaper each morning.  He wanted to know what was going on in town.

Since Boyd had too much free time during the day, he decided to get a part-time job at the local bookstore. He wouldn't make much, but it would keep him occupied and would give him a reason to get out of the house and enjoy the town once in a while.

Promotion for Amaterasu! She was moving on up in the Science career, and getting closer and closer to her Lifetime Wish each day.

"One-two-three-four-one-two-three-four ..." Haruki had commited to working out each day. He wanted to be lean and fit when he grew up.

"Woah! How can they do that many jumping jacks that fast?" Haruki tried to catch up with the people on TV that were working out.

"Augh ... my muscles are aching ..." Even though Haruki was dead beat from working out, he encouraged himself to push on.

"Come on, sis, this will be fun!" Aiko had taken her sister to the local pool. "Are you sure? I've never gone swimming before ..." Hotaru hesitated. "Trust me! You will love it!" laughed Aiko.

"Whee!" exclaimed Aiko as she jumped into the water.

Hotaru preferred climbing into the pool via the ladder.

"Ha! Gotcha, sis!" Aiko said as she splashed Hotaru.

"Come on, let's see who can hold their breath underwater for the longest time!" Aiko challenged, and the two sank underwater.

The two remained underwater, holding their breath, ready to give in at any moment.

Finally, Hotaru emerged from under the water and drew in a deep, long breath. "Rats!" she yelled out loud.

Aiko followed shortly after. "Yes! Haha! I am the underwater champion!" she exclaimed, raising her fist up in the air.

"Huh? Blair? Hi, Blair!" Aiko spotted her half-sister, Blair Wainwright, who was Boyd's first daughter.

"Hey, I just beat my sister in a breath-holding contest! I bet I could beat you, too!" Aiko challenged, and with that, they were underwater.

"Ugh!" Blair coughed and breathed as she could no longer hold out, and rose to the surface.

"Ha! Nothing can stop me!" laughed Aiko as she claimed her second victory of the day.

Haruki was growing up soon, so Amaterasu planned a birthday party for the party-loving boy. She invited Blair, Molly, Holly Alto (her boss), and many others.

"Molly!" Molly Hamby was Haruki's only friend outside the family, so he was naturally overjoyed to see her.

"Holly! We're both Ambitious and Good!" Amaterasu was happy that her and Holly shared two traits. This meant they would get along much better.

"It's time for my little boy to grow up!" Amaterasu clapped her hands in glee. Holly cheered on as well.

"Here I go!" said Haruki as he spun into the next stage of life.

This was the scene that smashed Amaterasu's heart into a million little pieces. Though Haruki was eye-catching, he looked almost exactly like Xander Clavell, right down to the purple-blue eyes and the olive-green tips of his hair. Fortunately, his fourth trait selected was Bookworm, a trait that Xander himself could never have.

Haruki decided to get a part-time job at the bookstore to help support the family. Not only did he love books, but he could work alongside and bond with his stepfather. It was the perfect job for him.

On the way home, he decided to stop by the beach and enjoy the fresh, salty air. He ran into a girl his age named Abigail Bunn. He had run into her a few times at school, but never really took the time to know her. Her hand was warm, he noticed, as they shook hands.

The two hit it off quite well. Within short time they were giggling about kids in their class and the weird ways their teachers dressed, talked, or acted.

"You know, Haruki, I've always kind of liked you, I mean I know we've never talked but -" Abigail blushed. Haruki was filled with a sudden happiness and smiled. He was filled with joy on the inside.

The two shared a close, lingering hug against the beach scenery. It was a beautiful, warm starry night outside.

"Mmmm! You're a good massager. You have magic hands!" said Abigail as Haruki finished giving her a massage.

"Aren't we not allowed to drink alcohol underage?" questioned Haruki. "Who cares? It's not like we're drinking bucketfuls of the stuff!" answered Abigail, taking a sip of the drink in her hand. "True that!" laughed Haruki as he too, took a sip of his drink.

"I'll drive you home!" offered Abigail, and Haruki agreed.

"Huh ... Haruki's got himself a little lady friend!" thought Amaterasu, laughing, as she watched Haruki and Abigail interact with each other.

"You're so pretty ... Abigail ..." said Haruki, who was compelled by her beauty.

He couldn't stand it anymore. Haruki leaned forward and gently kissed Abigail, and to his delight, she accepted the kiss.

When they stopped to take a breather, afterwards they just kept kissing even more.

"You have the prettiest green eyes, Abigail," compliented Haruki as he stroked Abigail's cheek. "They match your hair tips!" joked Abigail as she touched his caressing hand.

They then enjoyed a make-out session.

"Abigail, I was wondering if you'd like to go steady with me?" Haruki was nervous and awaited a response, and to his relief, she nodded, indicating a yes.

They then shared a kiss to celebrate a new romance.

"I gotta go, but I'd love to hang out again anytime," said Abigail, fluttering her eyelashes, and they shared a good-bye kiss before departing.

The Okamis never stopped donating. Hotaru even got up early in the morning to make a donation.

"I got another promotion! Dear!" exclaimed Amaterasu, clapping, as she told Hotaru the news.

"That's great, mum!" Hotaru gave her mother a well-earned congratulations hug.

Boyd and Haruki took the carpool to work together now as they both had the same part-time job at the bookstore. Work started an hour after Haruki returned from school.

The two were also able to bond because since Haruki didn't have the time to do his homework right after school, Boyd helped him with it. Not only were Haruki's grades beginning to improve, but so was the bond between step-father and step-son.

"Oh! Eww!" Little Aiko was slightly disturbed by the images on Horror TV.

"Don't open the door, don't open the door ... oh, too late," said Aiko, talking to her TV.

Amaterasu's new work uniform. Though blue didn't really suit her, the uniform was still snazzy.

Boyd enjoyed gardening. Other than painting, it was the only thing that could ease his tired mind.

"Ha! Tag! You're it!" Hotaru said as she tapped Aiko on the back. The two were playing tag in the very spacious garden.

"Yeah? Well, I beat you at breath-holding! Watch me beat you at tag!" challenged Aiko as she chased her sister around the lot.

"Ha! Now YOU'RE it!" Aiko said, poking Hotaru. "Aww ..." Hotaru groaned in defeat.

"I'm too fast for you! I'm too fast for you!" laughed Aiko as she ran away from her sister, who was "it."

"How do you run so fast?" asked the puzzled Hotaru. "I guess I was just born this way!" laughed Aiko.

The two sisters shared a loving hug and then headed back indoors where dinner was awaiting them.
