The Okami Legacy 1.3 - "Home Sweet Home"

The Okami Legacy 1.3 - "Home Sweet Home"

Here is Haruki's birth announcement in the local newspaper which came the very next day.

The house was strange when Amaterasu walked in it and nobody else was home. Xander may be gone, but he left behind an unbearable bad aura that even little Haruki seemed to notice. It bugged both mother and son for days.

Over time, the aura faded, and Amaterasu got mostly over it, but she still had the occasional outburst every once in a while.

Amaterasu decided she needed some comforting, and asked Boyd to come over. It had been a while since the two last talked, the two last kissed ... Ammy got butterflies in her stomach just thinking about that night, reliving it when she had free time.

Unlike what happened with Xander, Amaterasu didn't have to plaster on a fake Barbie-like smile when she was around him. This time, when Boyd grabbed her hands, the grin came naturally.

Even little Haruki seemed to be happy his mum found new love and happiness in Boyd. The two were obviously meant to be together, you could see it in their eyes when they were together, the way they seemed more alive, the more they shined.

Amaterasu asked Boyd to go steady with her, and he couldn't refuse. They rejoiced in a kiss, with little Haruki cooing in the background.

A few sim days later, Amaterasu took Boyd out to the bridge by her house, and they had a wonderful time.

Maybe having just a little too much fun.

Then ...

... She proposed.

Boyd's eyes were large. The ring was beautiful, and it even had their names engraved on it in fancy cursive writing.

"Yes! Yes!" Boyd jumped up and down in glee, getting maybe a little too excited.

After slipping the rock on his finger, they rejoiced in a hug. Amaterasu was certain that they were destined for each other, and that their marriage wouldn't come to the same tragic end like her previous one with Xander.

It wasn't planned, it wasn't expected. They said their vows and exchanged rings right then, right there, no hesitation, in their everyday clothes, because they feared that if they didn't, the spark, the magic, would be lost, and all they wanted to do was drown in the moment.

They stared into each other's eyes, certain that they were soulmates.

They sealed their marriage with a kiss, and it was official. Boyd Wainwright was now Boyd Okami.

With the funds they recieved, a small house was able to be built. (Forgive me, I am not the best builder, so you won't hurt my feelings if you think it's fugly.)

The first floor. When you walked into the house, you'd run into the entrance/eating area. The area with the couch is the living room, or it will be once I get the money to fix it up. There's a bookshelf and stairs leading upstairs, and if you go past the stairs, there's the (pathetic) kitchen.

The second floor. The tiniest room is the bathroom. The room with the big double bed is the master bedroom, which leads to the balcony. The nursery is the top room with the crib in it.

I changed Boyd's hairstyle, but nothing else, because everytime I tried, the game would crash :[ Oh well, he's becoming an elder soon anyway, and besides I kind of like his outfit.

A quick, small honeymoon was held for the newlyweds.

Boyd tried to be a good step-father. He would get up in the wee hours of the morning just to care for Haruki.

An adorable step-father/son moment.

"Okay, first you crack the egg, but be sure not to get any eggshell in the batter ..." Amaterasu had her first 'crack' at making pancakes.

"Then, you pour the milk. Not too much, or the batter will be runny ..." Amaterasu wanted to memorize the way she made her pancakes. If they were good, she'd know how to make them in the future.

"Then, you stir the batter. Not too fast, or it will spill ..."

"Flip the pancake ..." The pancake sailed high in the air whenever Ammy flipped it.

"And, ta-da! The best pancakes in the Valley." Amaterasu beamed as she took a plate for herself. She remembered the first time she cooked - the hot dogs - and laughed, remembering how burnt they looked, like little charcoal rocks.

Boyd seemed to enjoy the pancakes. He dug in like no tomorrow while Ammy watched on beaming.

Amaterasu was digging through boxes and pulling out stuff when she came across a clipping from a newspaper. Curious, she pulled it out and teared a little as she read over her and Xander's wedding announcement. She crumbled it up, ripped it into shreds and threw the pieces into the ocean. Even though she didn't act like it, she was still sad about the whole affair ideal, but she was happy she had found a new life with Boyd.

The next morning Amaterasu spent attached to the toilet. She was throwing up buckets, and she felt downright horrible.

She then remembered the night of her little honeymoon. Was she pregnant? Again?

Ammy couldn't stop checking the sinks and stoves. She wanted to make sure they were off. If not, the house could burn down, or flood.

"That's my little boy! Just a few more minutes!" Amaterasu said to Haruki as she changed his diaper.

Boyd had begun to take an interest in the painting easel that was on the balcony. He decided to take a stab at painting.

Sure enough, Amaterasu spun into maternity wear sometime soon. She was so exhausted that she didn't even make it to the bed. She just passed out on the couch.

"Honey, I have some news ..." Ammy had pondered the night before how to tell Boyd, but she decided to just stick with the two traditional words. "I'm pregnant!"

His eyes bugged out of their sockets and his mouth hung open in a perfect O, but he didn't speak. "Hun? Honey, say something, please ..."

He tackled her in a hug, shaking with shock and glee. Amaterasu sighed a breath of relief.

She didn't think she could have possibly picked a better lover, spouse, or father.

He even offered to massage her back when she got pains. Boyd was amazing at giving massages, and Amaterasu often sported the look of sheer pleasure on her face.

Soon enough, it was time for Haruki to grow up into a toddler. He sat up for the first time as he literally sparkled and spun into the next stage of life.

Amaterasu was disappointed when Haruki turned out looking a lot like Xander, but she learned to deal with it. There was a slight problem with his mouth, but hopefully it would grow out.

Though they weren't related biologically, Boyd and Haruki bonded like father and son should. Haruki even started to call him "Daddy," which made both parents feel happy.

Haruki drinking his milk. Everything he did was just so cute.

What an absolute darling!

Like most toddlers, Haruki was eager to explore.

One day, Amaterasu got up to repair the toilet. She suddenly felt sharp pains and a puddle surround her. She was in labor!

"We have a woman in labor here! Step on it!" Boyd exclaimed at the taxi driver, who was going as fast as the speed limit would allow.

The two walked into the hospital and checked into a room.

Then, at 2:38 a.m. (Sim time), two baby girls were born. Twins! Double trouble for the Okami clan! It seemed as if though the household would no longer be outnumber by boys.

The first-born was Aiko Okami. In Japanese, "Aiko" meant "love child." Amaterasu named her this to show the love she and Boyd felt, and what they produced together.
Traits: Absent-Minded, Good.
Favorites: Pop (music), Frogs Legs (food), Green (color).
Astrological sign: Cancer

The second girl, Hotaru Okami. "Hotaru" meant "firefly" in Japanese.
Traits: Brave, Good. (Just like her momma!)
Favorites: Pop (music), Ratatoullie (food), Aqua (color)
Astrological sign: Aries (again, just like mum!)

Driving home in the taxi, this time with two new additions to the household.

As predicted, Boyd was a great father. He was all over the babies once the taxi dropped them off home.

Taking care of a toddler and two infants was not going to be easy at all. Amaterasu figured this out during her first day caring for the little ones.

Just finished reading--enjoyed it quite a bit :) It's different from others but I'm enjoying it. Can't wait to read more! ^_^ and little Haruki is sooo cute (despite being the offspring of that awful man)

And I agree with Virgo XD I'm tempted to pull out the video game and replay it....

That was great, very unique!
I feel like you went into a little too much detail though, like the whole pancake bit really wasn't all that interesting, it just seemed unnecessary.
But I love the storyline!
